01
Business history
GE Distributed Power combined the Austrian Jenbacher gas-engine business, acquired in 2003, with the Waukesha engine brand GE gained through its 2011 Dresser acquisition. The engines supplied on-site power, combined heat and power and gas-compression duty worldwide, with main sites in Austria, Canada and the United States.
Advent International completed its $3.25 billion acquisition of the business on November 6, 2018, including GE’s share of a joint venture with a China Energy Group subsidiary. The independent company now operates as INNIO.
