Coverage, not completeness

The continent filter covers the whole world; the records show only places supported by location-level evidence. Aviation, healthcare and MR systems, power generation, nuclear fuel and steam turbines, plastics and locomotives are represented. Many locations and business families still need historical research; this is not a complete list, and no Antarctic factory is established here.

Africa: Onne wellhead fabrication in Nigeria, GE-GLS joint-venture subsea assembly in Angola, Midrand switchgear assembly in South Africa and GE–Sonelgaz turbine assembly in Algeria are documented. Ghana's Takoradi facility is service and testing only. Oceania: Perth, Australia, is included as turbine service and repair only; no manufacturing site in Australia or New Zealand has been established by this collection’s sources. Radios: Bridgeport and Syracuse entries rely on a specialist GE mobile-radio heritage archive, not corporate verification.

GE Capital and finance: financing equipment is different from manufacturing it. GE Capital offices are not counted as factories. Cincinnati-area aircraft-engine manufacturing belongs to the aviation business; Florence, South Carolina, is represented by its healthcare/MRI manufacturing site. Read GE Capital’s history.

A GE product assembled at a customer's plant is not automatically a GE-owned factory. Historical evidence does not certify a factory is still open today. Scotland is listed under United Kingdom in the country filter; search “Scotland” to find Montrose.

Places awaiting manufacturing evidence

Kazakhstan and Finland: Astana locomotive assembly and Tampere grid-compensation equipment are documented, with historical joint-venture ownership distinguished. Czech Republic: choose Czechia or search either name for Prague turboprop-engine production. Singapore's Seletar component manufacturing is distinct from Loyang repairs.

Libya, Kenya, Sudan, Thailand, Egypt and New Zealand: country notes distinguish office, service, customer-project and proposed-factory evidence from confirmed manufacturing. No factory pin is invented where operating GE-owned or GE-joint-venture production has not been established.

Appliances, radios and microwave ovens: Louisville appliances, Columbia's historical electric ranges and ovens, and the sourced radio works are represented. The EPA record establishes GE production at Columbia from 1972 to 1990 but does not specifically name microwave ovens; a product-specific manufacturing source is still needed. A GE-branded oven made by a supplier is not automatically a GE-owned factory.

New Mexico and Mexico: New Mexico is a United States state, not the country Mexico. Albuquerque headquarters and acquisition evidence do not establish a GE factory there. Mexico's Ciudad Juárez site is included for blood-pressure-cuff manufacturing; aviation engineering offices are not automatically aircraft-engine factories.

Hungary: turbine-related manufacturing, water-treatment membranes, control panels and historical Tungsram light sources, components and machinery are documented. Spain: blade factories, historical wind assembly, electrical protection equipment, water-treatment equipment, luminaires and Cartagena plastics are included. Portugal: the historical GE Power Controls factory at Candal, Vila Nova de Gaia, manufactured electrical protection equipment; its 2013 closure proposal is not treated as a verified final closure date. Ireland and Dublin: Carrigtohill in County Cork manufactures diagnostic contrast media. No Dublin manufacturing site is established here; aircraft-leasing and finance offices are not manufacturing plants. Argentina: Neuquén's documented GE Vernova repair center is included as service only. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh: the country register links reviewed customer-project evidence, which does not establish GE-owned factories.

London: no location-level manufacturing evidence has been added for London itself. The UK entries currently cover Hamble, Cheltenham and Montrose, rather than treating a London office as a factory.

Malaysia: GE Aerospace describes its Subang operation as engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, not new equipment manufacturing. It is not counted as a manufacturing factory. GE Aerospace facility profile

Oman: Nizwa is now included for BHGE assembly and repair, separately from manufacturing totals. The Sohar Aluminium agreement covers turbines at a customer's site, not a GE-owned manufacturing plant. GE's Sohar services announcement

Qatar: Ras Laffan is included in the directory and map as service & repair, not manufacturing. Its 2007 source describes a service center and repair workshop; no new-equipment factory is asserted. GE's Ras Laffan announcement

These evidence gaps do not mean GE never manufactured in these locations. A qualifying factory needs a reliable source before it can be included.
