GE Businesses
One industrial heritage. Many businesses. Different owners today.
Vintage-style artistic recreation of GE's historic businesses.
From General Electric to three independent companies
General Electric was formed on April 15, 1892, from Edison General Electric and Thomson-Houston. GE HealthCare became independent on January 4, 2023; GE Vernova separated on April 2, 2024, when the remaining company began operating as GE Aerospace.
This collection covers major business families and historical names, not every legal subsidiary, acquisition or product brand. Earlier dates describe predecessor or technology origins, not the founding date of a modern division. Former GE businesses and licensed GE brands are not automatically owned by GE Aerospace.
