01

Business history

GE Supply distributed electrical products—wire, conduit, lighting and control gear—to contractors and industrial customers across the United States.

Rexel acquired GE Supply for $725 million in 2006, with completion publicly reported on August 8, 2006. The business continued within Rexel’s distribution network; it was a distribution business, not a GE manufacturing division.
