Business history
GE’s Solid State business brought together GE Semiconductor, RCA Solid State and Intersil product lines, supplying integrated circuits and power devices for industrial, commercial and aerospace applications.
Harris’s 1989 product guide records its acquisition of the General Electric Solid State Division in December 1988. The transaction added GE, RCA and Intersil products to Harris’s line; it should not be described as a sale of every GE microelectronics research activity.
